Lazy~

Man, what a pig I am...

It was almost 4pm when I woke up, only to have "lunch" and fall asleep hours later. And wake up again at 10.30pm.

In short, I slept all Saturday. Dad thought I came back from California and still having jet lag.

I gotta get more rest in college. All these sleepless nights burning the midnight oil are starting to take a toll on my sleep patterns, and health. Even as I type this, I'm coughing saliva all over my precious laptop.

Gotta sleep more "normally".

Once I get over with these homework......

Google Earth

Google as apparently updated Google Earth pics of Penang with even higher resolution ones. Now I can see the college from the skies.

Full sized version here:

Hmm... that's the campus I marked #1.

#2 Is the hostel. Can you imagine climbing that distance through a staircase every day?

#3 Is the summit of a hill I hiked occasionally.

Too bad they haven't gotten new pics of my hometown yet :(

Tag! I'm it.

Argh... I'll remember this Zi Yun. Thanks for tagging me.

10 YEARS AGO I WAS :
Studying in standard 3. Went to teacher's office trying to explain why a student twice my height had his nose bleeding (Sorry, my fault). Standard 3 was also when I acted on stage for the first time, as far as I could remember at least. The act? Wedding. And I'm the groom.

Hmm... or was that act a 11 years ago? Or was it 9? Argh... wth. 10 years is a lot of time to forget stuff.

5 YEARS AGO I WAS :
I was with the computer club, setting up the school's first website. It was also by first stab at web publishing, and it went quite well. I got a nicely laminated cert for the trouble, but it wasn't long before it went missing. Haven't found it yet T_T.

1 YEARS AGO I WAS :
I was preparing for my 1st Degree Black Belt test. All a sudden I have to go to college and find myself catching up with 3 month's worth of work. Yes, that's the year I joined HSC. Made lots of friends and joined some fun activities.

First time I live away from home. I'm more used to it now but Day 1 was difficult. In fact, I was screaming all the way home after enrollment, and went to Penang to start classes the next day with a face fit for someone on the way to a funeral.

I've got my first laptop. It was beautiful, the first time I own something that expensive all to myself. I originally asked for a lousy one (the one I picked was obsolete within months), but dad picked a state-of-the-art (now outdated, unfortunately) laptop for me. Yay! No more worries about mom confiscating the keyboard too, as she did with the home PC.

Unfortunately, my laptop got stolen from my room less than a month later. At least it was because I got outsmarted, not because of negligence. The best part is, it was recovered 2 weeks later, and the thief was caught.

Got a UAI of 80.75. Not what I hoped but not bad for a late comer.

YESTERDAY I WAS :
Getting a hair-cut with my sis. Went there at 3pm and waited till 6pm. While waiting, my sis had to go tuition and I get to send her there. I got so bored (should have brought a magazine or something) that I downloaded a Sudoku game via handphone and finished a game for the first time.

5 MOST RECENT SONGS I LISTENED TO :
Err... whatever they played on the radio when I drove back to the hostel I guess. Wasn't really paying attention.

5 SONGS I KNOW ALL THE WORDS TO :

  • National anthem
  • Kedah State anthem
  • School anthem

That's all. Really. I'm not much of a music lover.

IDEAL PLACES FOR RUNNING AWAY TO :
Pedu Lake. That place is so relaxing. I can sleep by the lakeside all day! The breeze... ahh...........

5 THINGS I REALLY WANT :

  • Get Nobel Prize
  • Get PhD.
  • Study in UQ
  • Impress everyone, muahahha...
  • Fancy photographic equipment and tools.

5 THINGS I SHOULD BE DOING RIGHT NOW :

  • Do a stack of assignments and reports.
  • I want my bed. I'm sick and haven't recovered completely.
  • Read the newspaper. Should just waste it simply because I got it for free.
  • Learn to play Sudoku
  • Post-process some photos from a recent trip.

5 BIGGEST JOYS IN MY LIFE :

  • I love my family and friends. THEY are my joy.
  • I came from a well-to-do, happy family.
  • I've got a good sense of humour, and quite forgiving.
  • My sis and I don't argue as often as we did.
  • I'm quite smart. Not genius but still quite smart :p

5 PEOPLE I TAG :

  • No one
  • No one
  • No one
  • No one
  • Anyone who happens to drop by!

Lydia, I know you'll drop by here sooner or later. Looking forward to read your's :p

Lin Hui, Ying Yi, what about you folks? :D

Poke me!!! Poke me!!! Poke me!!!!!!

Finally, a long dream becomes reality.

No, I haven't won the Nobel Prize yet, but I'm now officially a blood donor. That's right, I've always wanted to give away some of that red juice. But ever since I've got a palette transfusion while recovering from dengue, that strengthened my resolve. Ever got the feeling that you owe something?

Unfortunately, I kept missing my chance, primarily because I couldn't get to the place. No transport, bleh... And then, sometimes I didn't find out a blood donation drive (although its just within an earshot away. Imagine my disapointment) until its over.

But now, there's one at college, and I've got plenty of free time. When I read the poster about it, I was soo.......... happy.

The idea of doing a good deed by just lying there (I'm not scared of needles, so they don't bother me) appeals to me to :p.

Hmm... wonder when will I get my chance again.

By the way, how about organ donation? Where do I sign up? :p

lol lol lol (I'm laughing, but I'm serious)

There were some light refreshments prepared for us donors. When I flipped through my blood donor's card, I realised that there are all sorts of incentives for donors too. Make me wonder why the blood banks are always empty. Surely those who have their own transport can haul themselves over to the nearest hospital and just lie down for a moment.

Oh ya, our principal donated some too!

Too bad the response here wasn't too encouraging.

PS:
The folks from Hospital Pulau Pinang will still be here tomorrow, 9am-4pm, at Exam Hall B, INTI International College Penang.
